    Former Scrapper tagged as GLVC Pitcher of the Year

    Congratulations goes out to former Michiana Scrapper, Jordan Peterson, from Chesterton High School on being named the 2013 The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Pitcher of the Year.

    Peterson, a sophomore RHP, for Division 2 Saint Joseph College, currently sits with an 8-1 record and 1 save in 12 appearances with a 1.67 ERA in 86 Innings Pitched.  Jordan was a 3 year member of the Michiana Scrappers organization under Coach Blondell before heading to play for Coach Rick O'Dette and the Pumas.

    The Michiana Scrappers would like to congratulate Jordan on his efforts and wish him the best of luck as the Pumas head into tournament play.  For more information on this story, click on the picture above.

    Ryan Bettcher signs to Play Division 1 Baseball

    LaVille’s Ryan Bettcher signed a national letter of intent to play college baseball with The University of Cincinnati Bearcats.  Ryan, the son of Rod and Michelle Bettcher, will  earn a total of four letters playing baseball at LaVille.  On the baseball diamond, Ryan has earned All-NSC honors for the past three seasons (Honorable mention as a freshman and 1st team honors as a sophomore and junior as a left handed pitcher / outfielder).  His career batting average currently rests at .473 heading into his senior season.

    "This is a tremendous honor for Ryan and his family, notes Director of Player Operations Brian Blondell.  Ryan has put forth a great deal of hard work to get this point and the Scrappers are extremely proud of his success."

    Hudnall off to a good start for Boilermakers

    Conner Hudnall, a South Bend Clay graduate and fromer Michiana Scrapper, is off to a good start for the Purdue Boilermakers.

    Hudnall currently is hitting .250 in 19 games and is either 1st or 2nd in several offensive categories; doubles (6) 2nd on team; HR (1) 1st on team and RBI's (12) 1st on team.

    The Boilermakers will begin Big Ten Conference play this coming week.
