Matt Schwitz

Matt Schwitz - Personal Trainer, Pitching Instructor

Matt Schwitz joins Premier Training as a Pitching Instructor. Schwitz is in his first season as an assistant coach at Indiana University South Bend. Schwitz will assist with the pitching staff and day-to-day operations of IU South Bend baseball.

Matt was a 2010 graduate of South Bend St. Joseph High School were we was a first-team All-Northern Indiana Conference selection his senior season.  Upon graduation he went onto to Kankakee Community College in Kankakee, IL.  During Matt's freshman season he compiled 89.1 innings and a 7-4 record.  During his sophomore campaign he pitched 74.1 innings with a 7-2 mark and was named MVP for the Cavaliers both seasons.  Matt was also honored with the 2012 NJCAA Academic All-American award.  He pitched his way into the Kankakee Community College baseball record books.  Schwitz fifth all-time with 89.1 innings pitched in a single season and sixth all-time with 163.2 innings pitched in his career.

Matt's career moved on to Holy Cross College (IN) where he was fixture in the Saints’ starting rotation for two seasons.  Matt compiled 66.2 innings and hurled four complete games during his first year with the Saints and was 9-3 with 74.2 innings in 2015.  Schwitz was named a captain for the Saints during his senior season and was also named a NAIA Scholar Athlete in 2015.

Schwitz earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Holy Cross College.
